Our History
The story of Nicomac began in 1977 when Franco Nigris, a Milanese entrepreneur, founded the company with the aim of bringing innovation to the pharmaceutical sector.
Initially specializing in the distribution of basins and sterilization systems, Nicomac quickly distinguished itself through the quality of its services, earning a solid reputation in international markets. In 1985, Nicos Group Inc. was founded in the United States, a distribution company dedicated to the North American market, which over the years became a reference point in the pharmaceutical sector in the USA.
The evolution into a manufacturer: Nicomac's step towards the future
The turning point comes in 1992: after 15 years of activity, Nicomac, still owned by the Nigris family, transforms from a distributor into a manufacturer, beginning to produce cleanrooms and coating systems. The company embarks on an ambitious growth path that allows it to solidify its role in the Italian and international markets.
Through continuous expansion, Nicomac first moves production to a 1,500 sqm site in 1997, and then, in 2001, to its current 4,000 sqm facility in Liscate, near Milan, where it continues its commitment to innovation and quality.
Global expansion: Nicomac Far East and beyond
In 2002, Nicomac expanded its horizons by founding Nicomac Far East Limited, a manufacturing facility in India dedicated to cleanrooms. With rapid growth, the company established itself as a leader in the Indian market, reaching a revenue of 25 million euros in 2019. That same year, the group decided to sell the Indian division to focus on new markets and ambitious projects in Europe.
In the meantime, in 2011, Nicomac Europe was founded, and in 2015, Euronovis was established, a company specialized in coating oral solid forms for the nutraceutical sector. With a state-of-the-art production facility designed by Nicomac Europe, Euronovis quickly became the leader in Italy and a major player in Europe. In 2023, Euronovis was fully acquired by Wellma, a European group that gathers young and dynamic companies in the nutraceutical and niche pharmaceutical sectors. However, the partnership and friendship between the two companies continued in the following years, providing both with great mutual benefits and inspiration.
Innovation, growth, and new horizons.
Even during the most challenging years, marked by the crisis and the pandemic, Nicomac continues to invest in growth.
2021
In 2021, Nicomac Europe acquired a plot of land adjacent to its current facility, with the goal of further expanding its production capacity.
2022
The group proudly celebrates 45 years of history, marked by passion, expertise, and the ability to innovate.
2023
Nicomac's extensive experience and deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector led the Mangini Group to acquire 70% of the company's ownership in 2023, with 30% remaining with the Nigris family. Joining this prominent Italian industrial group marks another turning point in the company’s history. Nicomac Mangini is now one of the most important international players, an industrial reality supported by the synergy of three production sites in Italy, technological innovations, and the expertise to offer its customers a wide range of integrated products: certified cleanroom systems, complete lines for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical processes, turnkey projects for controlled contamination plants and environments in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, healthcare, microelectronics, data center, and dryroom sectors for gigafactories.
