To mix dry/wet powders and for granulation, high performance is achieved with the Nicomac Nicomix™ High Shear Mixer.
The Nicomac High Shear Mixers enable perfect and uniform granulation thanks to the tulip-shaped design of the container, which allows operation from 30-40% to 100% of the capacity. Our Nicomix mixers combine a rotating three-blade system with a design that ensures excellent granule movement even at low speeds. The ends of the blades are positioned to avoid dead zones. This powder mixer with binder solutions can be supplied with both automatic and manual powder and binder dosing systems.
The design of the Nicomac High Shear Mixer ensures ease of validation and cleaning thanks to an integrated cleaning system (clean in place) or through an external system (Nicomac CIP WIP Movable Skid™). The Nicomac granulator can be supplied to be installed in high containment granulation lines under isolators for highly active products.
Powder Flowing
Thanks to the exclusive design of the impeller and chopper with inverter-adjustable settings, high powder flow properties are achieved, ensuring perfect mixing and uniform particle size distribution. The binder agent is dosed either manually or via a peristaltic pump.
With an inclined bottom and a perfectly sealed product discharge valve, the unloading process is smooth and complete. The impeller and chopper seals are triple-lipped. A piston allows the lifting of the impeller to enable full cleaning. The process ends based on the motor torque value to achieve repeatability and reduced processing times. The PLC-PC control system manages all stages of the process, including cleaning. The cover is automatically lifted by actuators. A platform ensures perfect handling and direct discharge into the NicoMill calibrator.
