The NicoBed fluidized bed dryer from Nicomac offers a combination of energy efficiency, high-quality drying, and operational flexibility, making it a highly competitive solution globally for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. Nicomac Fluid Bed Dryers, which allow for drying, granulation, particle coating, and pelletization, are entirely made of AISI 316L stainless steel in contact with the product, polished to a mirror finish even on the exterior. They can be supplied and certified at 2 bar or 10 bar. All models feature an extractable basket for complete inspection, easy maintenance, and flexibility in product handling. They come equipped with automatic systems for product loading and unloading, utilizing closed containment systems.

The TWISTER™ system

The exclusive Twister® System, patented by Nicomac, is the foundation of success for the fluid bed processor. The Twister enables perfect control of the airflow turbulence, which, combined with the spray from the tangential and top spray guns, minimizes pressure drops and ensures a uniform and repeatable process. This prevents product sedimentation and agglomeration, thereby reducing processing times.

The uniform distribution of the binder solution is crucial for good granulation, and in Nicomac’s system, this is ensured by Schlick spray guns, which follow the airflow, providing perfect coverage of the granule. Nicomac Europe features a combined Bottom-Top spray system, a unique combination that offers great flexibility and effectiveness depending on the product being granulated.

The Bottom Spray, using Schlick spray guns, allows for control of the atomization flow and spraying with “AIRBUBBLE” technology, which ensures high efficiency and effectiveness. The Top Spray, with multi-head Schlick spray guns, creates a wider spray cone, thoroughly and uniformly coating the granulate.
