The Solid Wall Coater from our Superior pharmaceutical coating line features a unique design with a smooth cup-shaped basket and three-dimensional paddles. This model is capable of coating and sugar-coating cores of all shapes and sizes, producing pellets, and even performing powder layering.

Coating for all oral solid pharmaceutical forms

Cylindrical, oblong, round, spherical, oval tablets, as well as hard and soft capsules. Nuclei of any shape can be coated in the solid drum of the Nicomac SWC coater, ensuring unmatched performance in terms of both quality and processing time for tablets, pellets, and even powder layering of the pellets themselves.

The perfect design for coating, combined with Nicomac's 3D Shark Fin Baffles® and the exclusive Blow Master® system (patent IT 2002A002542), makes the SWC solid basket pharmaceutical coater an excellence system for coating and sugar-coating. These features, together with the adjustable spray gun arm (patent application no. 102021000017075), allow all models of the Superior solid basket coaters to work from a minimum of 15-20% of the capacity, depending on the core characteristics and process type, up to 100% without changing baffles or the basket.

Fast process times

Our Blow Master® drying system, patented with No. 102003901171946, is the result of years of continuous technical evolution. It provides high performance, low product loss in suspension, and no turbulence in the spraying area, replicating the drying system of a perforated coater. Blow Master® features automatic adjustment to blow air directly onto the tablets based on the batch size being processed.

Perfect mixing

The 3D Shark fin baffles® mixing baffles in Nicomac's solid wall coaters combine maximum mixing efficiency for very delicate products, ensuring an even distribution of the spraying solution, along with high drying efficiency. Nicomac's 3D baffles are suitable for all types of cores, even for very small batch sizes. No replacement baffles are needed for different shapes.

Spray system

The spray system, equipped with SCHLICK spray guns, is designed with a sliding arm that can be easily removed through the front hatch, simplifying maintenance and cleaning operations. Thanks to an exclusive mechanism, the spray guns can be positioned at the optimal distance from the bed of tablets. The angle, pressure, and spray volume are automatically adjusted through the control system.

Fully contained coater for high potency product

Nicomac has developed numerous customized systems for high-potent products under isolators. For this type of product, only the solid wall, non-perforated pan can guarantee a true sealed system. The machine body and the maintenance area are fully isolated to prevent any potential exposure of the operator to the product. A special cleaning system inside the drum and in the maintenance area ensures a perfect and safe cleaning process.

Easy, fast, and achievable cleaning

The experience gained by Nicomac in Washing and Clean In Place (WIP-CIP) technology has led to the development of an advanced system, compliant with cGMP, ideal for all cleaning processes requiring validation. This solution represents the most effective option for sanitizing the baskets. All models are equipped with multiple divospheres, ensuring complete coverage and uniform washing. The control system allows the programming of numerous recipes, automating the stages of washing, rinsing, fluid discharge, and drying, ensuring a fast and effective process.

A wheeled skid contains a 10-bar washing pump, detergent Pump and tank, membrane drying Pump, pipes, actuators, valves, membrain pump to eliminate waste fluids, Control Panel with pneumatic and electronic components.

The absence of perforations in the SWC basket ensures a simple and effective cleaning process for any coating procedure.
